Dolores Delano

Dolores Delano is a character created especially for the Charity Spin Roadshow. Since most of the team members are South American, we decided to give the team a name in Spanish, creating Dolores Delano. In our imagination, Dolores Delano was one of the most recognizable and popular competitors in the world of cycling.

The character’s name was created based on the pains she felt from competing cycling (Dolores) and her favourite pet, a donkey named Delano.

Dolores was born on April 28, 1950, in Mexico. She played several sports, but at the age of 10, she found her passion in cycling.

Dolores died in 1992 at the age of 42 but she is still alive in our hearts.

In her honour, we will wear the colours of the Mexican flag on the day of the competition.
